چکیده

Abstract Objective: A significant proportion of patients undergoing breast-conserving surgery require re-excision for residual cancer. This study aims to determine the factors associated with tumor in breast conserving surgery, and evaluate follow-up results patients. Material Methods: Patients underwent a 6-year period were included this study. divided 2 groups; no (Group A), required B). who mastectomy excluded. Results: In study, 190 assessed; those 153 Group A, 37 B. total 192 masses found; 154 38 The median time, disease free survival 9.2 (Inter Quantile Range [IQR]=5.9-11.1) years, 8.8 (IQR=5.0-11.0) years respectively. There was difference survival, local recurrence between groups (p=0.246, p=0.601; respectively). Axillary lymph node involvement, lymphovascular invasion, extensive intraductal companent, multifocality, large diameter younger age higher group. Multivariate anlysis identified, absence invasion (Odds Ratio [OR]=0.05; %95Cl 0.01-0,44), >50 (OR=0.17; 0.04-0.73) lower requirement; however, >2 cm (OR=4.52;%95Cl 1.28-15.98) re-excision. Factors Associated with Re-excision after Breast-Conserving Surgery for Early-Stage Breast Cancer

PURPOSE Re-excisions after breast-conserving surgery (BCS) for breast cancer cause delays in the adjuvant treatment, increased morbidity, and leads to poor aesthetic results. Thus, efforts to reduce the re-excision rate are essential. This study aimed to conclusively determine the re-excision rate and the factors associated with re-excision after BCS. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the m...

Breast reconstruction in conserving breast cancer surgery.

Breast conserving treatment (BCT) combined with radiotherapy have proved the test of time as a sound oncological operation regarding survival and local recurrence. Successful BCT is a balance between adequate surgery and maintaining the breast's appearance. Unsatisfactory outcome reaches 20-30% in standard techniques of BCT. Concepts described to widen the spectrum of BCT, have made an improvem...
